Relationships: On Marriage

It's good to attend weddings from time to time. For married people, it's like renewing your own vows for each other. Make sure lang that you have your partner with you when you attend weddings ha? :)

The homily at my sister's wedding is simple pero straight to the point. The priest discussed how sacred marriage is. Sabi nga ng kasabihan: "Ang pag aasawa, hindi kanin na isusubo na kapag napaso eh pwedeng iluwa." Hindi kayo contractual na anytime pwede nyong i-terminate yung pinirmahan nyong contract. It's like, you're a regular employee with benefits and along with it, comes a little drawback. And that marriage is never an easy job. Getting married is as easy as ABC but STAYING married is hard. It takes a lot of patience, understanding and love to keep the relationship going. You need to have a lot of it, especially patience. (Promise! Lol!) The priest was even surprised when he asked the couple how long they were engaged. (The groom answered 4 months.) He told them that getting to know your soon-to-be-partner in life requires time. In marriage, there's no turning back. It's either you'll find your happiness with your partner or you'll live in hell pag mali pala naging desisyon mo. Kaya talagang dapat pinag iisipan 'yung pag aasawa. I don't regret anything with my married life. I married the perfect guy for an imperfect woman like me. Naks! :) I was seated away from my husband, kelangan ko kasing umupo malapit sa altar kasi ako ang nagbasa nung 1st reading, kaya the entire homily I kept on throwing glances at him to make sure he's listening too. :)

The wedding was intimate and emotional. And I loved it!

And before I end this post, I would like to share a link to Randy Dellosa's blog. Here's a wonderful story of love.

  1. I don't believe in long engagement too. As long as you are prepared for it emotionally and financially, I think things will fall into place. Its true, wedding is one thing, staying married is another. "Nice to drop by your blog!
