One Step At A Time

As a working mom, I often feel guilty of being away from my kids during daytime so I usually find myself rushing home every night hoping to spend some time with them before they fall asleep. I am a regular commuter and that means more travel time for me. It sucks, I know right? Maybe this time you could imagine me running and snaking my way out of the crowded MRT station to catch a jeepney. I am in a constant hurry. I find it uncomfortable if not dangerous but I have no choice and I don't want to complain.  Until something life-changing happened to me last June 20. I slipped, bounced 3-4 steps down (or maybe more) and fell hard on the stairs at the MRT Taft Station. I accidentally stepped on a young lady's umbrella when she dropped it and you know what happened next. My bottom was in great pain and swollen and I was there crying not attempting any single movement to avoid any more injury. The young lady who appeared to be a student didn't leave my side until someone more au...

Welcome, 2014!!

Despite being exhausted for the past few days because I have no househelp, I still want to stay positive in welcoming 2014. But before anything else, I would like to thank my mom endlessly for being here with us to celebrate the holidays and to help us look after the kids. Mom, I haven't said this to you for quite some time now, thank you from the bottom of my heart and I super duper love you. I couldn't pull this off if it weren't for you.  :) So, as I was saying, I wanted to be more positive this 2014. To start with, let's look back to the year that has been and the learnings I gained. 1. It's hard to design a house (that's what the hubby does, we are in construction business) and it's even harder if it's your own.  But it is full of fun. From choosing colors down to floor tiles. And be prepared financially because even if you set a certain budget, you will surely go overboard especially if you are like us, compulsive shopper. 2....

In a few days...

..just a little bit more, I'll be hitting the big 3-0! Oh, yeah! One more year, wala na ako sa kalendaryo (pero nasa lotto pa rin naman, lol) . I thought of 30 before as the age where wrinkles start (this could be true to others though), grey hair multiplies fast (Oh, that's me. Well, mine is hereditary.) and skin starts to age (as in kulubot levelz). OA lang pala ako. Because I didn't feel old at all. Yes, I have matured. Time made me wiser. 29 years of life's different episodes made me tougher. Trials gave me learnings. Memories, happy or not, made my life colorful and meaningful. But I am definitely not old. I am happy with what my 29 years have turned out. It wasn't perfect. Way beyond perfect, I must say. I was traversing the wrong road when I was younger. I fell hard. I made silly mistakes. I was almost at the brink of losing everything. But with prayers and proper guidance, I gained my sanity back, thanks to my ever supportive mother and relatives. No...

Signs of getting old...

....or it could be something else. Ekkk! Did you guys experienced doing something familiar yet felt awkward? Or ate something you thought you love then felt really bad? Lately, I've been feeling a little different about myself  my food palate and some things that I enjoyed before but scared of now. Is this normal or is it just me? Weird, ano? Before, I really enjoyed spicy foods. As in. I am a bicolana kaya keri ko 'yang mga maaanghang na 'yan. But hours ago, I almost fainted because of the spicy chicken of Jollibee. I dunno why. I had a late lunch kasi I had a heavy breakfast this morning kaya hindi ako nakasabay sa mga lunch buddies ko to our usual carenderia. I went to Jollibee para maiba naman and since I have some errands near the place. Jusko! After the first bite, I palpitated to the max and almost flew away. Hindi ko kinaya yung anghang. Feeling ko namula buong mukha ko. Good thing I ordered the Chocolate Float along with it. 'Yun na lang ang inubos ko to ...
